Outdoor Conversations- McCall- Wilderness 101 & The Wildest Place in Your Backyard

  • Payette National Forest Supervisor's Office 500 North Mission Street McCall, ID, 83638 United States (map)

Outdoor Conversations is SBFC’s presentation and lecture series focused on different aspects of wilderness and the outdoors.

Join us for an evening of conversation with SBFC Executive Director, Ryan Ghelfi!

Ryan will be presenting about the concept of federally-designated Wilderness and all that it entails: the benefits, the rules and regulations, and the history. He will also be sharing about SBFC’s work in the Wildest Place: the Selway-Bitterroot and the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness areas, particularly about our work near McCall!

Ryan Ghelfi

Ryan came to SBFC from Ashland, Oregon where he wore many hats including founding and operating businesses in the outdoor recreation sector. Ryan also served as the board treasurer for Siskiyou Mountain Club. In addition to business and nonprofit work he is also an avid outdoor recreationist and has pursued many different avenues of mountain travel. He has traveled around the US and the world as a professional ultra-marathon runner. Ryan and his family have relocated to McCall, Idaho in 2023.
