Hiking the Idaho Centennial Trail: A Diverse Perspective

  • The Community Library 415 Spruce Avenue Sun Valley, ID, 83353 United States (map)

The Idaho Centennial Trail is a 995.6-mile path weaving through the state’s wild country, from high desert canyonlands in the south to wet mountain forests in the north. The trail begins near Murphy Hot Springs on the Idaho/Nevada border, then descends to the Snake River near Glenn’s Ferry before traversing the mountains of Central Idaho, skirting the Selway River near Moose Creek Guard Station, and finally climbing the Cabinet and Selkirk Mountains. The trail was designated the official state trail in Idaho’s Centennial year in 1990 and crosses three historic trails (Oregon, Lewis and Clark, and Nez Perce), eleven national forests, and three wildnerness areas.

Join us at the Ketchum Library for an evening with the authors of a new guidebook on the Idaho Centennial Trail, Lisa and Jeremy Johnson, as well as John Lloyd and Dan Noakes who have hiked this spectacular route.

Registration is required for programs at the Community Library. Please sign up here!
