St. Mary Trailhead Volunteer Ambassador Program
Help SBFC build a community of responsible wilderness trail users!
In 2021, the Selway Bitterroot Frank Church Foundation launched a new St. Mary Trailhead Volunteer Ambassador Program on the Bitterroot National Forest in Montana. In partnership with the Forest, the SBFC Trailhead Ambassadors educate trail users about trail safety, how to be prepared for their hike, responsible trail use, and Leave No Trace principles. Trailhead Volunteer Ambassadors also record visitor use information and may perform routine trailhead maintenance.
Trailhead Ambassadors will be stationed at the St. Mary trailhead on weekends in July and August, 2024. Additional days may be added to the calendar depending on demand and volunteer availability.
No experience necessary! Training is provided.
Additional information can be found here.
